Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony suing National Enquirer
Pop Diva Jennifer Lopez and her skinny husband Marc Anthony are headed to the UK to file a lawsuit against the National Enquirer!
Lopez and Anthony are pissed off over an article the tabloid ran saying that they were involved in a heroin scandal. Paul Tweed, their new lawyer who specializes in bringing U.S.-based celebrities' libel cases to British and Irish courts, told The Associated Press that the couple is seeking "a six-figure settlement" from the Enquirer, based in Boca Raton, Fla., and its parent company, American Media Inc.
The lawsuit also seeks an apology and retraction for an article that appeared in different versions of the Enquirer's U.S. and international editions.
The version published March 12 in British and Irish editions claim the couple was "caught up in a heroin scandal." They accompany the article, editors reprinted a 2004 picture of Anthony standing beside photographer Michael Star, who is facing heroin possession and child pornography charges in the U.S.
Marc claims he doesn't even know Star and was just posing for a photo to be nice.
