Kelly Clarkson returns to American Idol
The original American Idol Kelly Clarkson will make her return to the Idol stage tonight as a part of the two hour, Idol Give Back special.
Clarkson, clearly the most successful Idol winner, will be joined by her country counterpart, another former Idol winner Carrie Underwood.
Tonight's special is a way for the popular Fox reality show to give something back to the community. The show will also feature appearances and performances by Michael Bublé, Borat, Gwen Stefani, Annie Lennox, Il Divo, Hugh Grant and Daniel Radcliffe.
The show has also been advertising a duet with two of music's most famous names. Word is that Celine Dion will duet with Elvis Presley. I guess this will really be something you have to see to believe.

How can you say Clarkson is 'clearly' the most successful idol. Underwood has sold more than Clarkson did at the same stage in their careers. Clark has sold 3 million more, but she has 3 years longer in the business and one more album, Underwood's first album CLEARLY sold more than Clarkson's first. You need to compare apples to apples or not compare at all. Your mis-represent the facts.

Kelly Clarkson is "clearly" the most successful idol because it is much harder to break into the market she targeted than the country market. I mean, look at Kelly Pickler and Josh Gracin.

Most of the fans of American Idol are midwestern country bumpkin who sit around with grandma and grandpa and watch their family friendly show. Of course Underwood would transition into more records from American Idol. Though Clarkson has also made a movie, won an Emmy (not a country music award?), had a top selling album with multiple singles that MORE people listened to on mainstream radio, and been much brighter figure in pop culture (think Howard Stern, 40 Year Old Virgin, etc.)
Kelly Clarkson is CLEARLY more successful.
