New York City officials pissed over new Grand Theft Auto
New York City loves to be at the top of everything, but here is one activity the city doesn't want to host -- Grand Theft Auto. The newest installment of the controversial video game uses a virtual version of NYC called Liberty City, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his peeps are not too happy about it!
”The mayor does not support any video game where you earn points for injuring or killing police officers,” said Jason Post, a spokesman for Mayor Bloomberg.
Bloomberg has reason to be upset. New York is the nation’s safest big city, according to crime stats showing a 58 percent drop in auto thefts since Bloomberg took office in 2002. The city’s murder rate is down by 28 so far this year, compared to last year.
