'Unidentified' shooter killed himself on Virginia Tech campus
The president of Virginia Tech University held a press conference on Monday afternoon and described a horrific scene on his campus. Charles Steger said that the unidentified shooter turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
Mr. Steger said the reason the shooter hasn't been identified is because he was not carrying any identification with him. Steger and campus police chief Wendell Flinchum would not estimate the age or give a description of the shooting since they don't know who the individual is.
Stegler also told reporters that a list of those dead and injured in this shooting rampage would be released tomorrow. He is not encouraging parents to come to the campus, but he is urging students to reach out to their parents.
Media outlets are reporting that at least 31 people are dead and many others injured.
This is being called the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
Correction: This original story was posted as Segler, but later corrected to read Steger as the police chief's last name. Our apologies! Our thanks go out to gaysocialites.blog reader Scott Vogler for pointing this out :)
