Bachelor pick Tessa Horst denies spoiler report
The New York Post called it a last month that Tessa Horst would get the final rose on the Bachelor. The Post also reported that Tessa spilled the beans to them saying that Lt. Andy Baldwin proposed, but Tessa declined.
Tessa says that simply isn't true. We now know that Lt. Andy's final rose did go to Tessa, however she did not "decline" his proposal. Horst says she has no idea where the Post got their story.
"Yes, these rumors going around with The New York Post... I think that was an absolute fabrication," she said. "I never spoke about the show in public, and [the rumor] wasn't even true! It said that I turned down the proposal... and so we're moving past that."
For this installment of the Bachelor, Officer and a Gentleman, ABC didn't seem too concerned about keeping the winner a secret. When ABC revelealed their 2007-2008 rundown, they accidently showed a picture from the final show where Tessa and Andy embrace.
The New York Times was quick to point it out.
"And if you don't know what that means -- the embrace -- ignore it; but if you do, you're a very loyal ABC fan, and yes it was a spoiler. At least I assume it was. Sorry about that," The New York Times television critic Virginia Heffernan wrote in a blog entry about last week's ABC "upfront" presentation.
Andy and Tessa say they are still together, but they plan to take it slow now that the show is over.
