Britney Spears - Marilyn Monroe duet in the works

Since most people didn't accept Britney Spears' 15-minute lip syncing appearances in California as a comeback, the former pop tart has to come up with something else. Here's the new plan: Britney will sing a duet with Marilyn Monroe.
Evidently former NSYNC'er Lance Bass has secured the rights a previously unreleased Marilyn song called 'Down Boy'. Bass thinks the song is perfect for Britney and has plans for it to be on her next album.
"Lance wants Britney to sing with Marilyn on the track, like Natalie Cole did on 'Unforgettable' with her dad Nat King Cole," sources say Britain's Daily Star newspaper.
Plans are also already in place for the Britney to don a platinum Marilyn-esque wig (since she's bald, ya know) and dress like the Monroe, when they shoot the video.

As it turns out, the duet was just another stunt. Please read this article and you will understand how and why this was made up.
Greetings and happy mother's day.

Britney Spears / Marilyn Monroe Duet Hoax!
By Ernest Cunningham, author of "The Ultimate Marilyn"
Will a 'rediscovered' Marilyn song be Britney's comeback vehicle? Another hoax indeed, since people can claim whatever they want, until they will face a lawsuit.
The weekly claims that attach themselves to American icon and movie legend Marilyn Monroe, are becoming painful, if not absurd.
Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan seem to fight over the title: 'Who is the best Marilyn, around?'
Answer should be: None of them.
'Down, Boy!' the sexy voice commands, and because it's Marilyn Monroe singing it, you obey. But this newly-found treasure found on eBay, where else? is creating problems for fans of the beloved blond icon, and new attention to the ongoing problems of Britney Spears who may or may not be on the road to recovering her career, her sanity, and
her underwear.
The story goes that 'Down, Boy!' was spotted on eBay by Kim Goodwin, the popular hair stylist and makeup artist to the stars (Madonna, Sharon Stone, many others). Kim was on the run and had to fly to Fiji for work, and was said to have asked friend Jack Allen (who runs a photo shop in Burbank), to bid for him.
Jack made the winning bid, but the sequence of eventsand the fate of 'Down, Boy!' gets muddied after that.
When Mr. Goodwin returned to Los Angeles, after five weeks, the song was purchased by Allan, as Goodwin requested, but Mr. Allan had already copyrighted it under his own name. This action obviously ended a long friendship and Mr. Goodwin also believes that this Spears / Monroe duet hoax is nothing than a business stunt by Mr. Allan, who was promoting the song for years now. Nobody seemed interested in it.
In a current news release, Lance Bass, the former N'Sync singer, says that he owns the rights to 'Down, Boy!- and is offering it to Britney Spears as her comeback: through the magic of electronicsa duet between Britney Spears and Marilyn Monroe. Down, boy, indeed!
The problem here is believability: in our tabloid society ('I read it in the Enquirer, it must be true!' -- since Mr. Allan has an editor friend at the National Enquirer, we can assume that this is where the story is originating from), you never know whether you're reading a valid press release (not likely), a paid-for story, a you-wish! fantasy, or a conspiracy to overthrow the country.
The past year alone has seen would-be celebrity Jeanne Carmen claim that Christina Aguilara wants to portray her in a movieactually suggesting that successful and popular singer Christina might star in a movie as a party girl and trick-shot golfer. Then there's the PR flack Kenneth Knoll who is pushing another would-be Marilyn friend, the ancient and absurd June DiMaggio who claims a close Marilyn friendship but obviously was never in the same room with her. There's an endless supply of these charlatans: 'family friend' Dolores Hope Masi, and Sherrie Lea Laird who says she is the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe. Etc.

You say you don't believe these stories? Wait: maybe you'll like the ones next week or the week after etc.
Here is another 'Down Boy' version, which of course has nothing to do with the Marilyn version. This one was performed by Holly Valance. But it seems very Britney-like, indeed. Why would Ms Spears even take on such a project? I can not imagine why she would do such a thing. But maybe Christina Aguilera might "star" as self proclaimed Marilyn friend Ms Carmen first...
