Jordin Sparks loses voice, likes new single
The newly crowned American Idol has lost her voice. With less than one week under her belt, Idol winner Jordin Sparks has evidently strained her vocal cords doing media interviews.
The youngest Idol winner to date, however, remains calm and collected.
"It's been crazy, the day before yesterday I did press all night long until 11:45," Jordin explained. "I did a bunch of affiliate stuff, I did Leno and Ellen. I've had a good time!"
Sparks also told the media that she relates to her new single, "This is My Now."
"It's actually so perfect, because I remember sitting down and listening to the song and thinking about how perfect it was," says Sparks. "Through this whole process, it was something I have been dreaming about. I love singing it because it spoke to me."
Jordin Sparks is from Glenndale, Arizona and is the daughter of retired NFL player Phillippi Sparks. Jordin was crowned American Idol on Wednesday after beating out Blake Lewis. Idol says they got a record number of votes for this year's finale even though ratings were low.
