Sanjaya who?
A month ago, Sanjaya Malakar was the most popular horrible singer in the nation. It looks like before long he'll have nothing, but a pot smoking mom!
Most American Idol finalists receive some sort of fan fare when they return home, generally in the form of a pep rally and key to the city; but that's not the case for Sanjaya. According to the New York Post, Malakar's hometown of Federal Way, Washington could really care less about the American Idol loser.
"Federal Way has more important things to deal with, and unless a council member tried to push through a proclamation, then that 'Idol' wannabe should not expect a similar honor," town manager Neal Beets told a local TV station just before Malakar, 17, was voted off "Idol."
Suggestions for a Sanjaya day "came from people on the East Coast," says a city hall source.
Mayor Mike Park told reporters that the city has never honored anyone with a special day in its 17-year history and is questioning Sanjaya's connection to the town in the first place.
Malakar's family has lived in the Seattle area most of his life, but has also lived in Hawaii and California. He attended area schools but dropped out of high school in Federal Way his sophomore year - after passing his GED exam - to pursue a career in music.
In addition to the fact that his appeal seems to be gone, Sanjaya's mom can't seem to stay away from the wacky weed.
TMZ.blog published the picture you see here on Wednesday. The photo which obviously belongs to the National Enquirer, shows Mom-jaya (aka Jillian Blyth) passing a bong and a lighter at a Hollywood party in March (while Sanjaya was on American Idol).
In February 2005 cops busted Blyth with 310 marijuana plants and growing lights.
So this could very well explain why the kid is so freakin' strange!

Why would you want to hurt this lovely and talented young man, whose only crime was to follow his dream. I bewildered by you - surely you've been bullied yourselves and are angry.
Is this the problem?

NMANNY, You sound angry, dude. Get on with your life and work on getting rid of your hatred for gay people. You'll never win -- it's a losing battle. The world doesn't need miserable people like you. Be well.

Leave this family alone. He did not do anything to earn this abuse.

What type of simple minded conservative gay hacks write for this sorry excuse for a newsletter? Seems like some queen is jealous of the S-boy. Sour Grapes...it's not pretty!

What a hateful piece this is. Sanjaya is beautiful, inside and out. He loves his mother even tho she is not perfect. All of us have someone in the family who smokes pot, so what? Sanjaya did nothing wrong, and you are just mean to write this. Go crawl back into your hole.

Talk about hatred, this top's it all, This is as low life as it gets. I find it hard to believe that a gay person would even write something like this. We pride our self's on being highly educated , no discriminating people, and then I see this kind of stuff. This article is a disgrace to gay's and to me. This should be removed and destroyed and the person that wrote it should be go find something to do with there time. For you information Sanjaya is the most loving caring person to find there way into popularity, and he is a really great singer why would you do something like this to him.

Remember this man. Ronnie Hokanson, you don't have to be so bitter to gain popularity.
Lighten up.

It's getting old, guys, all this maligning an innocent 17-year old. Contrary to what you may think, bullying has not become vogue . . . and following one's dreams is not a crime.
