Shrek the Third breaks animation records!
Shrek the Third has broken the North American opening weekend record for an animated film, raking in $122 million. Shrek also knocked Spider-Man 3 out of its top spot.
Shrek the Third features a star studded voiceover cast including Mike Meyers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Justin Timberlake.
Spider-Man was expected to lose the #1 spot to Shrek as Shrek is expected to fall out of the top spot when Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End opens next weekend with Johnny Depp, Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom.
