Ty Pennington says DUI is a "wake up call"
The host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Ty Pennington, is doing some serious damage control following a DUI arrest this weekend calling his drunk driving stint "an error in judgment."
While most celebrities would head to rehab, Ty is apologizing.
"I made an error in judgment. We all make mistakes, however this is about accountability," he said in a statement. "Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone. This was my wake-up call.
"I also want to apologize to my fans, ABC Television and my design team for my lapse in judgment and the embarrassment I have caused."
At least Pennington is admitting to his mistake rather than pulling a Paris Hilton and blaming his publicist.

yea atleast hes ammenting to wut happend and hes not blaming other peopl. atleast no one got hurt while u were out driving under the influnecne. we r all just glade this was a wake up call for u and u wont go out doing again.........im just glade u and everyone else is ok i just hope everyone has learn there lesson from this....... dont drink and drive weather ur a good driver or not u no one should be in a fear of beign killed b.c of people driving after they have been drinking...we all still love u....
