Bob Barker: No Rosie Endorsement

Bob Barker says he DID NOT mean to endorse Rosie O'Donnell for his former hosting gig on the "Price is Right".   Barker commented that he had "no doubt" that O'Donnell would make a fine host for the CBS game show last week at the Daytime Emmy's.  Now Bob says that wasn't meant as a plug for Ro to get his old job.

"I have not been asked for my opinion, nor have I expressed one," Barker said. "I think there are several candidates who could do the show, and Rosie is certainly one of them."

Rosie evidently met with the CBS producers Thursday.  Prior to that meeting, O'Donnell told readers of her blog that she "sure would" accept the job if offered.

O'Donnell seems to be the only woman in the running joining a fleet of potential male hosts that includes Todd Newton of the E! network, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight," George Hamilton and John O'Hurley. Variety is also reporting that Drew Carey has added his name to the hat.
