Paris Hilton says she won't appeal

While reports from jail say that Paris Hilton is losing it, the hotel heiress released this statement saying she won't appeal the judge's decision to send her back to the slammer:

"Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge's decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff's concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.

This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.

As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.

I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world."

Paris will serve the remainder of her 45 day sentence in jail.  This weekend, Ms. Hilton is in the medical ward at Twin Towers, an L.A. County jail facility.

If you've been trapped in a box for the past year, then here's what is going on:  Paris Hilton is in jail for violating probation resulting from a DUI address.  Meanwhile, she's been acting like a big baby.

However, based on this statement... I will assume that Paris Hilton is already starting to grow up.  I guess we will see.

i think ur givin her 2 much credit

don't forget this is all a game to her. before when she got released to house custody, all of a sudden she wasn't crazy anymore, instead she issued a formal press release and in all of a sudden she was ok.

we've seen her video where she used racial slurs. she should be in general population.

People do spend too much time putting this in the media. Also people are way too harsh on her. I don't approve of what she did, but people, like Linda R above, are overly quick to judge her. She's not the first ditz to break traffic rules or have the magical number of .08 to her credit. She won't be the last. But she sure is treated like she's in a Miss O.J. trial. Just because she's rich, spoiled, pretty, stupid or whatever isn't a reason for her to have the worst punishment. Punish by the crime and by the book. Nothing more, nothing less..

What a nice girl! My respect!
