Tony Snow resigns, Dana Perino new Press Secretary
George W. Bush continues to lose his staff. Aww, so sad!
The White House Press Secretary Tony Snow announced on Friday that he will be stepping down. Dubya took the stand to announce that Dana Perino, the Deputy Press Secretary will take Snow's gig.
"It's been a joy to watch him spar with you," Bush told reporters. "He's smart, he's capable, he's witty, he's ... able to talk about issues in a way the American people understand."
Snow, a former Fox News commentator who was hired last year, announced in March that he had suffered a recurrence of colon cancer. Therefore his announcement on Friday comes as no surprise. His last day is scheduled to be September 14.
Perino is a familar face to reporters too. She has served as Snow's deputy since March 2006 and filled in for him in March and April this year while he was treated for cancer.
