i think vanessa handled the situation really maturely and to the best that she could. teen girls (and boys!), no matter who they are, end up doing stupid things (whether it is to this extent or not), and it is unfortunate that the media scrutinizes everything these teenage celebrities are doing.

if cameras were constantly following you around while you were a teenager, i'm sure they would have caught enough evidence to get you grounded for a very long time.

it's true that she took these photographs at her own will, but it was not meant for the public. what she does in her private (own) time should stay private, and i'm sure there are many others out there who take intimate pictures to show their loved ones. those people, however, probably do not have friends/acquaintances who think of them only as a CASH COW and would do anything just for a few bucks.

as for teen boys seeing things they should not see, if they want to see something, they're going to get it one way or another. it just so happens that miss hudgens is famous and is more likely to get more exposure, but if they are eager to see pornographic images, it is extremely easy to find on the Internet.

as for little girls looking up to an image that is "immoral", who's job is it for us to judge if she is immoral or not? what she did was a private matter - she didn't do it for money, she didn't do it for an adult website - she did it in the privacy of her own home with the intent that it would be kept private.

little girls can still look up to her, and if you want to keep your children from knowing the truth, then it is YOUR job as a parent to keep an eye on what your children is searching on the Internet.

it is true that it is not a positive thing to do, but i think that she is getting a lot more heat than any other teenager (who have done the same things) would get because she is in the media spotlight. i am not saying you should encourage your children to actually go look at the pictures, i am saying that what she did is unfortunate but was NOT intended for the public eye, so it is not our place to judge her because it was not for us to see in the first place.

i am sure your children look up to the "image" of her that they are familiar with - the sweet girl from high school musical. but in reality, you should also let your children know that vanessa is a person (just like the rest of us) and she does make mistakes... and the person that she plays (and even when she is herself on the disney channel), that is simply an image/facade that vanessa hudgens is putting up.

vanessa HAS already been publicly reprimanded. the media is not saying "it's okay" that she has done this - there are already many people, like yourself, who are outraged AND with all of the news/gossip circulating around her, i would think that is already extremely humiliating in and of itself.

if you mean by "publicly reprimanded" is that you want disney to let her go, it would be extremely hard for them to do that because it would completely ruin the flow of the first high school musicals.
