Whoopi Goldberg makes us miss Rosie O'Donnell
During her debut on the View Tuesday morning, Whoopi Goldberg landed herself a spot in the gaysocialites.blog Stupid Bitches Club by defending dog killer Michael Vick, insulting southerners and challenging the morality of her own ethnicity.
Whoopi basically said that Michael Vick killed dogs because it was in his blood as a black southerner.
"He's from the South, from the Deep South ... This is part of his cultural upbringing," Whoopi said.
Was she stoned out of her mind or something?! I was born and raised in the South, the Deep South... and if I ever so much as hurt a dog... my redneck family would probably strap me to the back of a truck and drag me around a field! I don't know very many southerners who would EVER allow you to hurt their dog.
But there's more rambling from Whoopi...
"For a lot of people, dogs are sport," Goldberg said on the show. "Instead of just saying (Vick) is a beast and he's a monster, this is a kid who comes from a culture where this is not questioned."
A culture where dog killing is not questioned?! Are you fucking kidding me?! How could she dare say that entire culture thinks it is okay to kill dogs?
I do not know any person, no matter the color of their skin, who finds it fun to watch two dogs fight each other until one is dead or so badly hurt that it can't stand up any more.
Whoopi Goldberg is a HUGE mistake for a show that I loved to watch while Rosie O'Donnell controlled the table. I agreed to give the view sans Rosie a try, and now I think that was a mistake too. Hell, Rosie didn't even piss people off this early on!
However, I'd like to congratulate Whoopi in joining the likes of homophobic presidential contender Mitt Romney, antisemitic Amber from Big Brother 8, party girl Paris Hilton and dog killer himself Michael Vick - all members of the gaysocialites.blog Stupid Bitches Club.

I am disgusted by Whoopi's ignorance, sure shines light on her as an uncaring human being.
There is not too much of her washed up career to ignore anymore, but I won't be watching
anything with her in it ever again. There is NO EXCUSE for animal abuse and murder.
SHAME ON HER and hopefully this will backfire on her BIG TIME. What a hypocritical creep.

I agree completely with you. I started watching The View when Rosie signed up and have since stopped watching. I used to love Whoopie, but the more I watch her on that show the less I like her.

Though I agree with you, I think you misread how she used the word "culture" - it does not only relate to ethnicity, but mentality, morality, and ideals.

Whoopie was put on the show to give real views. Not just her own but views of others. She has a radio show also and the public gave their views. I knew there would be half listening viewers. I love my dogs also. As Whoopie stated, I don't condone what Vick did, but I too know of a "culture" that doesn't find anything wrong with what he did. They get those kinds of dogs to make them killers. I'm sorry but all of them either come from poor areas in the deep South or their ancestors moved North in the last 100 years and their offspring maintain the mentality that goes with that way of thinking. Black and white. I was told that telling could get them killed. Listen to what she said again. She didn't say it was alright. I actually watched the show. You will hear views on topics from Whoopie that you will never hear from the rest of panel. Don't shoot the messenger.That's why we are in the condition we are in. We have to stop the "it doesn't happen on my street so I don't care what they think or do." KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. Let Whoopie's words smoke them out of the woods into the spotlight. Let her words make the wife or girlfriend of the monster pitting these defenseless dogs against each other for sport, brave enough to contact the police. I prefer Whoopie over the new Rosie. Rosie use to be outspoken without being a panel bully. Now she seems angry with the world.

Poor black and white southerners may have brought dog fighting to the always superior north. Please reference your sources. Fill us in on your detailed research into the "now" vast dog fighting black market that exists in the the "Deep" south?
Yet another ignorant jab at the south. As a former son of the deep south and a poor area at that. Dog Fighting was never condoned! The poorer parts needed their animals to live. They were beast of burden, so-to-speak and dogs were seen as VERY useful parts of the family. Not only for companionship, but protection. Not to mention the age old relationship for hunting and herding of animals. We needed our dogs to survive! You don't allow an asset to fight to the death!
So, yes shoot the messengers for their ignorance. For making generalized comments about an area and a people they have very little, if any knowledge of whatsoever! Wrong is wrong. I don't care what part of the country you hail from!

How many of you eat meat? Do you care about the suffering of THOSE animals? Of course you dont! Just because some of you want to use dogs as surrogate children doesnt mean they deserve to be put on a pedestal any more than any other animal!
Ive never seen dogfight, but its an ancient sport, going back to roman times - why is Michael Vick being held up NOW as the symbol for it (as if I really have to ask)?
