Britney Spears' record label sues Perez Hilton
Perez Hilton has been slapped with yet another lawsuit for copyright infrigement. This time it is Britney Spears' music label Zomba who is going after the tragic blogger.
Hilton posted leaked tracks from Britney's upcoming album "Blackout" without permission and Spears' people are pissed!
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles this week, accuses Perez, born Mario Lavandeira, of illegally obtaining and posting at least 10 completed songs and unfinished demos from Spears' upcoming album, "Blackout," during the last three months. Britney herself is not named on the lawsuit.
The suit does not specify the amount of monetary damages that Zomba is seeking. It asks for real and punitive damages as well as legal costs.
Perez is also nominated for two 2007 gaysocialites.blog Awards. His website is nominated for Best Gay Blog while Lavenderia's character Perez Hilton is nominated for GaySocialite of the Year. Voting ends on Monday.
