Video of Kanye West's emotional return to the stage
Kanye West kicked off his European tour on Saturday night in Paris marking his first return to the stage since the tragic death of his mother, Dr. Donda West.
In this video, you will clearly see that it was an emotional night for Kanye. As his set came to an end and Hey Mama started to play, West attempted to dedicate the tribute to Donda, saying "this song is for my mother…” and that was as far as he got.
“He just cracked,” one concert goer told People, “He was at the end of his concert and had just started to dedicate the song and then he just lost it completely."
"A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn’t continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying while the band continued playing,” another attendee added.
The crowd started screaming with support for Kanye that eventually turned into a huge applause.
After leaving the stage for about 15 minutes, West returned for an uplifting performance of Stronger.
Kayne will return to the US to attend his mother's concert in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, so he had to cancel Monday's show in Amsterdam.
West will resume his European tour on Thursday night in London.
