Was Fabolous involved in the deadly Duvet stabbing?

As we first reported earlier Saturday, a friend of the Rapper Fabolous has died after getting stabbed at a popular Manhattan club called Duvet.
Shamal McKinney was evidently stabbed to death after he got involved in a fight between two women.
Early reports said that police were looking to question Fabolous about the fight, but now there are conflicting reports as to whether or not the Brooklyn-born rapper was even at the club when the killing took place.
The New York Daily News reports that when their reporter visited Fabolous’ New Jersey home on Friday to question him about the incident, an unidentified man answered the door and said that Fabolous had spent Thanksgiving with his family and was not at the club.
McKinney's brother Darryl who was also at the club that night acknowledges that Fabolous was at Duvet on Thursday night (into Friday morning), but Darryl insists that Fabolous wasn't involved in the fight.
“The fight broke out but he had nothing to do with it. He got caught in the middle,” Darryl explained. “ He wasn't with the girls. He was just standing there.”
The NYPD is still investigating the murder. At this point, it looks like they will rely on surveillance video and a bloody knife found in a dumpster near the club on 21st street.
