Is there any chance that Al Gore is going to be president?

Al Gore will go down in history as the man who won the Presidency but never made it to the White House.

But since losing the race for President by a Supreme Court decision, Al Gore has taken on a new role.  The former Vice-President's new position has thrust him to heroic status world wide.  Al Gore the environmentalist is an international superstar.

On Monday he was awarded a Nobel Peace prize and honored with celebrity tributes from such big names as Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Melissa Etheridge and Annie Lennox.  Al Gore is a celebrity.

But will this Nobel Peace prize winning celebrity ever become president of the United States?

The View co-host Joy Behar seems to think so.

"Al Gore is going to come in (to the presidential race), you just wait and see!" Behar exclaimed on Tuesday's View.

After the show's moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, told Joy that Al had already said he won't run for President in 2008, Joy revealed what she thinks might be the Democrat's plan B.

"If Hillary bombs, he's coming in..." Joy explained as Whoopi tossed to break.

What do you think?  Is Al Gore going to run for President?

I hope Joy is correct. During an Air America party, President Clinton told the attendees that if one of the candidates "fizzles", Gore would enter the race. At the time, people seem to believe he was referring to Obama. Perhaps, he was speaking of Hillary. Let's hope.

God, I hope so...the perfect candidate for president is one who doesn't really want the job.
Al Gore can articulate and motivate...much like F.D.R. and though we may not always agree with him on all the issues (he has proven to be right in just about every instance) he can LEAD. Leadership has been sorely lacking these last few years.
We will instantly gain our international reputation back, integrity will be restored to our institutions.
I don't want a president who I can belly up to the bar with.
I want our president to be truly representative of the BEST that we can be...a man who can unleash our great potential to be the force of good in this troubled world.
