Barack Obama 1st, Hillary Clinton takes 2nd in South Carolina

The poll numbers are starting to trickle in from the South Carolina polls, and it looks like Barack Obama has won that state. Hillary Clinton will finish second.

The big news is that "hometown" boy John Edwards is likely to finish in a distant third.

From here, it will be interesting to see if Obama gets a boost for Super Tuesday on February 5th when the majority of states will vote.

John Edwards is also the talk of Saturday night. The former Senator from North Carolina needed a first or second place win in South Carolina to get a boost for the battle on Super Tuesday.

Hillary Clinton is headed to Tennessee even as we publish this story. We are expected to hear from Senators Clinton and Obama before Saturday night is over.
