John Edwards quits Presidential race
Things are about to get really interesting in the race for the White House. Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards has dropped his bid for the Democratic nomination.
"It's time for me to step aside so that history can blaze its path," Edwards told about 250 supporters gathered in the Upper Ninth Ward which was heavily flooded when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005.
This is Edwards' second run for the White House, but he just couldn't get the same momentum he had in 2004.
"John ran with compassion and conviction and lifted this campaign with his deep concern for the daily lives of American people," Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton said in a statement.
Edwards has not endorsed any other candidate for the Presidency yet. No word on whether or not he will.
