President Bush to deliver his last State of the Union address
President George W. Bush will deliver his last State of the Union address on Monday night. Normally, I cringe when Bush takes over the airwaves. But I am glad that this is his last, and we are in the middle of a writer's strike afterall.
Bush has one year left in office, and this is his last chance to push his issues on Congress. Dubya will likely try to push through his economic stimulus plan and ask that his tax cuts become permanent.
The President will likely also try to push through his Republican agenda by focusing on the war and threatening what could happen if we leave Iraq.
I still think it is VERY cool to see a woman, Nancy Pelosi, sitting in the Speaker's chair behind. I can't wait until a woman is delivering the State of the Union.
