A twist in Britney Spears' conservatory case
Word broke this morning that Britney Spears was headed to court in regards to the conservatory her father Jamie has over her decisions and her estate.
Now, in strange turn of events, an attorney named Jon Eardley has filed papers in New York City Federal Court asking that Britney's case be pulled from L.A. County Superior Court. He says Spears can't get a fair trial out there.
"It is doubtful that Ms. Spears can receive equal protection and a fair trial or hearing in the custody proceedings because of the intense media scrutiny of what would normally be private aspects of a person's life," Eardley claims.
The documents allege "the deprivation of her civil liberties by the conservator is so severe as to interfere with the effectiveness of the scheduled medications that are covered by the Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act."
No one seems to know who filed the case, but all signs point Sam Lutfi. We aren't even sure if Britney knows he was filing the papers either.
Meanwhile, back in LA, Commissioner Reva Goetz told Spears' extended Britney's conservatorship until a hearing now scheduled for March 10th.
