LGBTQ and family owned Production Company, Small or Large Productions, is set to shoot its second independent film. Their first, “The Perfect Wedding,” featuring their son, the ever-talented Jason T. Gaffney, was a smash hit. This time, it’s a crime thriller called “Russian Doll.” Filming is set to begin this coming July, in the metro west suburbs of Boston.
Ed Gaffney, a Producer, and New York Times bestselling author, Suzanne Brockmann – co-owners of Small or Large – are head over heels at the thought of their second foray into queer movie making taking place in their home state.
“Russian Doll” is a story that focuses on a lesbian police detective; Kristine Sutherland, formerly of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” signed on to play the detective’s mother, a Superior Court judge. Like “The Perfect Wedding,” this upcoming blockbuster takes place in a universe where people are defined by far more than their sexual orientation, Brockmann explains.
“Russian Doll” is being Kickstarted from now through May 30, 2015, here. For more information, head to www.russiandollthemovie.blog.
