Well, maybe not little…Ginger has genuine article musical theatre training and chops, and has made the intelligent move of structuring her cabaret act Crossdresser for Christ: The Musical, A Drag Queen Confessional around a songlist made up exclusively of showtunes. She made the equally smart choice of going for variety within that songbook, using tunes from shows as disparate as Oklahoma and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

On Monday, June 1st, Violet Chachki was crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar for Season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Normally I would be sitting home watching with the rest of the Logo viewers. Not this time! This time I had the amazing opportunity to see it all happen live in New York City. gaysocialites.blog‘s bossman Ronnie Hokanson approached me about covering the event and I was more than elated to take on the challenge! I was joined by my best friend of 2o years, Aurora. We are super fans of the show, not missing a single episode. We even went to see several of Ru’s girls when they performed at Club Oz in Springfield, MA.

On Monday night the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 was announced on LOGO. All of this season’s queens gathered for extended episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race that picked “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”
The final three contestants, Ginger Minj, Violet Chachki and Pearl, were joined by the rest of the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 cast to look back at the season before the winner was announced.
