Our very own, King Ralphy, is the cover boy for Gooth Magazine's gay pride issue.  Gooth is a magazine that covers New York City nightlife and specializes in the outer boroughs.

Here is a video that Gooth released from behind-the-scenes at Ralphy's photo shoot.

Ralphy has come a long way in a short amount of time. He actually just started a new role at gaysocialites.blog as Marketing and Promotions Director and Contributing Editor.

Lil Wayne is in Rikers Island finally after two delays in going to jail. First his sentencing was delayed so he could have surgery on his diamond grill and then the courthouse caught on fire so he got another week of freedom. Wayne is going to serve a year for a gun charge.

ADVENTURES IN CLUBLAND

For a little bit over a year now I have been working in the nightlife industry. I'm often asked how I got so far, so fast; and while I'd like to say its a lot of hard work - my first adventure will explain how King Ralphy really came to be.

My strategy... I didn't have one.  I got a job working in the marketing department at a straight nightclub despite the fact that I studied fashion marketing, but a kid's gotta eat - ya know? 

What I didn't, however, expect was the adventure ahead.  Up to that point, I had never really gone to any gay clubs.  For me, I went out for dance music and that generally meant just underground raves.

When I found out that my new nightclub marketing gig also included working with the insanely popular "Hot Mess" party, I cringed a little in the beginning but quickly fell in love.  Before I knew it, "Hot Mess" crumbled.  It might sound like bad news, but I got a great new gig hosting an amazing gay party with the likes of Jason Preston and 12 Pack. 

So if I had to define it... my strategy has been to only hit the hottest parties, have fun and make sure everyone else is having the time of their lives too. My marketing job then started to seem secondary as the best parties in the city started paying me to host and promote their events.  The next thing you know, I've landed an amazing job doing marketing with Grammy award winning DJ Peter Rauhofer at Star 69 records.

I was just watching Clueless last night!

Multiple News sources are reporting that Brittany Murphy has died of a Heart Attack. She was 32 years old.

"A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department" - TMZ

Chevonne is a good friend of mine and she said "filming the video was a crazy, sexy, fun time and hope everyone gets a good laugh about it, we actually did get drunk."

You can see Chevonne at the pill awards in nyc next week, and download her ep on itunes "Unwrap Me" Chevonne also said her next ep will be full of " Summer Dance Tracks" and is due out in late February early March."

NIGHTLIFE

Clubland was buzzing last week at what seemed to be another bump in the road for longtime New York City party mr.Black.

At about 9PM last weekend my cell phone went off non stop, with messages stating "Black's is closed, what do we do tonight?"

FAVORITE THINGS

Our holiday favorite things continues with the place where the GaySocialites will be getting fit this as a part of New Year's resolutions!  You must come see us at Steel Gym!

Ken Hunt, the gentle giant boss man, is one of those trainers who can motivate you and push you at the same time.  I can't promise that you'll be able to perform simple actions the day after training with Ken, but I found that it is possible to function without picking anything up or carrying a bag.

Seriously, I've never felt more comfortable and more motivated to get in great shape!  King Ralphy is bulking up for the Winter Music Festival, Dina Marie is getting trim for her record release and I'm just trying to firm up a little so I don't actually look my age!

This favorite thing is one of our most favorite things.  Check out Steel Gym! A gym membership would also make a good gift for someone you love!

FRIDAY

Attendance is MANDATORY at Vlada on 51'st Street in NYC for The Trevor Project Date Auction (8-11pm). This event has an hour of open bar and all the proceeds are going to The Trevor Project which prevents suicide in gay teens. The best of NYC nightlife is hosting this event for free!

Go see Tanta Sherry Vine at Easterbloc. Sherry says she is  "hitting the "turntables" (ok, changing CDs) tonight at Big Sexy Land! open bar 11 - 11:30pm!! NIGHTLIFE

If you're in New York City this Saturday night, you can party hard without putting a dent in your wallet!  Let's call it the big gay recession special, shall we?

First, Peter Rauhofer presents "Work! For Free", and for after hours - get reduced admission at Pacha all night long on King Ralphy's list!  Not old enough for this fun?  There's always Drama at Rush!

First up on your social agenda should be Peter Rauhofer's WORK! Party as it returns to Santos Party House with a comp door all night long! Work! is one of the best parties Manhattan has to offer, and it is definitely the place to be seen! Santos Party House is located at 96 Lafayette Street in NYC.

Then, for after hours - head over to Pacha:

Victor Calderone and Behrouz will be dropping the beats way into Sunday morning. Here's a tip that will save you a lot of money at the door.  When you get to Pacha go to the cashier and ask for "Jonzi", tell her your on King Ralphy's guest list. She'll let you in for just 20 bucks!

Pacha is located at 46th Street and 11th Avenue in NYC.

And if you aren't old enough to attend either of those or if you're looking for something a little more low key, you should get wrapped up in the Drama at Rush.

Rush is offering a two-hour open bar between 10pm and midnight as well as Shakira release party. They're promising tons of Shakira giveaways and lots of Drama!  DJ Steve Sidewalk will provide the pop music for this BoiParty.blog event.

Rush is located at 579 Sixth Avenue (between 16th & 17th Streets) in New York.

Lady Gaga will re-release her debut album The Fame in three different versions. One of the 3 versions includes a picture book, while the other version is a double disc which will include the debut album. One version will be released with just the new tracks. Standard and Deluxe editions of The Fame Monster will be released on November 23, 2009. The collector's edition super-deluxe version will be released on December 15, 2009.

Gaga says: “In the midst of my creative journey composing 'The Fame Monster', there came an exciting revelation that this was in fact my sophomore album. I would not add, nor take away any songs from this EP, it is a complete conceptual and musical body of work that can stand on its own two feet. It doesn't need 'The Fame'."

"We may have an economy, but MUSIC HAS NO ECONOMY. I will release four or more singles from 'The Fame Monster', tour the world with The Monster Ball Tour, and most importantly I insist on honoring my fans with an affordable new album, an album that is as loyal to them, as they have been me."

Peter Rauhofer announced via his facebook this week that the his next work party would be the last one in NYC for the year. Peter's making it a gift to party goers who have supported the WORK! party after all this time by giving them a comped door all night! Calling the party "WORK! For Free" he says:

"...THANK YOU to everyone who came, contributed, participated, promoted and supported our parties from Spirit to Stereo to Highline Ballroom to Santos to Roseland....YOU were the ones who made it successful and WORK!. Not only in New York but also around the world in cities like Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Montreal & Paris. Erik Hassle is a gifted singer-songwriter from Sweden who was recently signed to Universal Republic. His new single, "Hurtful", is very reminiscent of OneRepublic's early work. Check out the music video above. Erik will release his debut album 'Pieces' in the US on February 22nd! Can't wait!

Petey Pig Flames Up at Breakout on Friday Dina Marie Delicious and King Ralphy debuted their new “Breakout” party in association with BoiParty.blog’s $5 Fridays promotion at Rush this weekend. The new colorful cast of characters, including Ronnie Hokanson, DJ John Marto, Skyla Versai and Kitty Litter, livened up the room creating a new diverse crowd that gaysocialites.blog has tagged twinky glam. The party got hot quickly when someone noticed a smokey aroma. OMG! Petey Pig accidentally caught on fire! It was like a scene from an after-school special PSA with trannies, club kids and twinks screaming “Stop, Drop and Roll!”. Thankfully, there were no third degree burns and the Pig had a change of clothes in his car.

HK took on a whole new feel on Saturday night for the launch of Dina Marie Delicious' weekly Blow Pop party. You can actually see this chic lounge transforming into a "Dance Spot", as Dina Marie has named it.

Blow Pop was one well choreographed show from beginning to end. Birdy wore an edible candy wardrobe. Acid Betty carried a jewelry box filled with sweets, and Petey Pig handed out Blow Pop suckers to the crowd.

Dina's parties are that organized chaos that you just have to appreciate. When the DJ played Dynamite, the first single from Dina's upcoming album, she took the stage a performed it impromptu! Half-way through the night, Dina even opened the connecting doors to the loft where another party was taking place and flooded the two crowds together as one. The entire night left you wondering what might happen next.

In addition to the cosmetic changes at HK, Blow Pop drew an eclectic crowd often considered unfamiliar to Hell's Kitchen like the East Village hipsters, West Village queens and Chelsea Boys. Dina Marie brought out everyone from New York's gay nightlife elite to reality stars and D-list celebrities.

The seen list could go on for pages and includes: America's Next Top Model contestants Celia Ammerman and Kortnie Coles (spotted sitting with King Ralphy), James Lehey Jacob Strawn, Herra C, Ronnie Hokanson, Yuhua, Jasen Kaplan, Matt Stetson, James Coppola, Adrian Rowell, DJ Tek Shur, Dj Serg, Anna Rexia, Epiphany and Sherry Vine (both out of drag)... just to name a few.

Dina Marie will take over HK all weekend starting next Friday with her monthly Circus Party. This month theme is "Alice in Wonderland", and each host is coming dressed in character. DJ Nita Aviance, 1half Nelson, Ericka Aviance, and DJ Serge are all on the roster.

Then on Saturday Blow Pop features DJ Serge and Scotty Rox as a part of Petey Pig's Birthday Celebration.

Last Saturday was the last week of the regular "HK Saturdays" party at HK as they make room for Dina Marie Delicious and her Blow Pop party which starts next Saturday!

Finnish pop star Alexandra Alexis impressed the crowd of some of the gay who's who of New York Nightlife including Malik So Chic, Jasen Kaplan, Petey Pig, Yuhua, Zoe Murphy, King Ralphy and gaysocialites.blog's Ronnie Hokanson.

And coming next week: Dina Marie Delicious is taking over HK every Saturday night with her all new Blow Pop party!

Opening week Dina Marie will be joined by co-hosts Jasen Kaplan, Acid Betty, Yuhua, Zoe Murphy, King Ralphy and Jackie "Birdy" as she helps unveil a whole new HK.

Dina Marie has been a pioneer behind the scenes pushing for the expansion of HK, and now her hard work and bitching is paying off!

Even though the name of the establishment will remain HK, Dina Marie says you won't be calling it just a lounge anymore. She's unofficially branded it as the HK Dance Spot. The owners (for whatever reason) don't want us to say much about it there is soon going to be two new rooms. One of which Dina has pinned as the "Blow Pop" lounge, and the other has a dungeon-like, cruisy feel.

It is going to be a big night for HK, and I cant wait!

Blame him for the swine flu if you must, but piggy stands out where ever he goes! Heres what MTV News had to say about Lady GaGa's NYC concert last week:

"Not only can she pull off the craziest styles, but she’s quite the performer too. She sounded great live and talked to the audience throughout the show, prompting the already-hyped crowd to go wild (one classic quote among many: “Do you know how many times I played clubs in this city and they threw beer at me? It was kind of fun”). The venue was packed with screaming and jumping Gaga fans, and we felt like sardines in there. In between fending off people pushing and shoving their way to get to the front (we even encountered a guy dressed up as a pig!), we couldn’t help but look up to the VIP balconies in an effort to catch a glimpse of Gaga’s A-list concertgoers."'

Last week the godfather of night life Michael Formika Jones sent out a text message to all promoters and hosts of his weekly party with Mark Nelson, The Skinny:

"Thanks to all of your honest work to make The Skinny a success. For whatever reason, economy, swine flu or just timing this events time is over. I appreciate you all very much! till next time, be safe".

The Skinny was a weekly Thursday party with a very short run. The Skinny survived two New York City Night clubs and had an all star cast of hosts including Amanda Lepore, Joey Israel, Nita Aviance, Cazwell, JC Powers, Celso, Bill Coleman, Dj Kindbud, Epiphany, Ronnie B, Tiana, Acid Betty and myself King Ralphy.

I don't know about you, but ill certainly miss it!

King Ralphy celebrated his birthday in style at HK on Saturday night with a packed house of New York's who's who including Dina Delicious, Epiphany, Yuhua, Petey Pig, gaysocialites.blog's Ronnie Hokanson and the birthday boy himself- King Ralphy.

Instead of receiving gifts Ralphy was giving out free stuff out all night long. Someone even walked away with a new iPhone!
