Dina Delicious introduces us to her first single "Reverse the Beat" [video]
MUSIC MONDAYS
New York nightlife-lebrity Dina Delicious is preparing to "breakout" into the music industry, so this week she introduces us to her first single - "Reverse the Beat".
Lil Wayne is in Rikers Island finally after two delays in going to jail. First his sentencing was delayed so he could have surgery on his diamond grill and then the courthouse caught on fire so he got another week of freedom. Wayne is going to serve a year for a gun charge.
My name is Charissa, but I am probably better known as DJRAP.
Now before you think I play hip hop, I got stuck with this name. Back in the day (way way back), I was the first DJ to ever drop hip hop beats under house tracks and the name stuck. I was also the first girl in the world of electronica to dj, produce, own a label, (I now own 2 PROPA TALENT and IMPROPA TALENT) sign a major deal with SONY and most importantly get paid the same as the boys and play in arena where chicks were not allowed and viewed mainly as eye candy.
You could say I shattered that old glass ceiling my darlings. So I set up this blog for all of you in language you all could understand.
'So you wanna be a dj" is a guide to what you need to learn, what it's really like and how to handle yourself in the this profession you have chosen. Of course this is just an opinion and they are like assholes everybody has one but I do hope this helps you if this is your dream.
Good luck!!!!!
I am with you every step of the way and if you need more you can alway go to www.djrap.blog, there's all types of music, videos and downloads!
Ciao LUV &BASS

You can check out DJRAP's first "So You Wanna Be a DJ" after the break. She's publish a new column every Monday as a part of our Music Monday series.

Here's something a little different for our Music Monday segment.
This is the video "Redemption" by Daniel J. Cartier. He's launching his new song and video in a unique way.
According to his website, "The video above explains how you can take part. Your contribution will ensure that REDEMPTION gets launched effectively and reaches a wider audience. As an independent musician, this type of grassroots support is vital, so I thank you for your support!"
We'll keep our eyes open for Cartier and "Redemption."

Over the weekend, I had the honor of introducing "Oh My Josh" as he covered Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" on Saturday night at Rush.
I also got the chance to sit down with "Josh" before the show who told me that his appearance on Saturday night was a part of a four city birthday tour.
Here's the video:
Maybe the next time Lady Gaga feels exhausted, she can call "Oh My Josh" as to fill in. He has back-up dancers and everything!
“I only make records when I feel I have something to say. I'm not interested in releasing music just for the sake of selling something. Sade is not a brand.” - Sade Adu
After a decade of waiting, it's finally here! Epic Records is proud and honored to announce the release of'Soldier of Love', the highly anticipated new body of work fromSade.'Soldier of Love'isSade'sfirst official studio album since the multi-platinum release of'Lovers Rock'in 2000. The album will be available everywhere on February 9th!
Every Monday we like to post a song and video to help you get a start to your week. Sometimes its brand new and exclusive, other times its a classic; but it is always timely.
There's nothing more timely for this week's Music Mondays segment than a Christmas song. You knew I'd do something cheesy, so here's "A Very Sexy Christmas" slideshow set to the tune of NSYNC's horrible Christmas hit, "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays."
Since it is Christmas this week, I decided to also include my favorite Christmas song of all time after the break (by the number one musical artist of all time).

Jacob Heal is going to be a household name soon, so remember where you heard him first!
Music Monday: Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" [video]
MUSIC MONDAY
Here it is! This is Adam Lambert's debut music video "For Your Entertainment". Everyone is talking about Lambert these days, but not because his album is great. Adam is making headlines over a controversial performance at the American Music Awards.
On Friday, he showed up on The CBS Early Show where he talked about being a sexual person and performed two songs.
Lambert loves to over-sing songs doesn't he?! It wasn't so bad on American Idol, but as a professional it's starting to get annoying.
Enjoy Adam's "For Your Entertainment" video above.
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys rock "Empire State of Mind" at AMAs [video]
MUSIC MONDAYS
As a New Yorker, there is one song right now that can make any bad day take an uphill swing. This week's Music Monday is from last night's American Music Awards. Check out Jay-Z and Alicia Key's "Empire State of Mind".
Jay-Z and Alicia Key rocked the AMA's Sunday night with "Empire State of Mind". Alicia started out with a "New York, New York" tribute, and it rocked my world!
This is definitely the song of the moment, especially if you live in New York.
Music Mondays: "Walk on the Wildside" short directed by Stephane Sednaoui [video]
MUSIC MONDAYS
Warning: This video contains nudity and may be NSFW!
Call it a little dab of Shameless Self Promotion, but as we extend our Music Mondays to include more than just new music - I'm plugging this short film by Stephane Sednaoui set to the song "Walk on the Wildside" by Lou Reed. Oh, and I'm also one of the stars.
For the New York socialites, this one is worth watching all the way through as you'll definitely see some familiar faces in addition to mine!
Stephane Sednaoui is one of the most brilliant video directors of our time having worked with Kylie Minogue, U2, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more! There was never a music video produced for Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wildside", so Stephane chose to take it to a whole new level with this short film.
It was an honor to work with Sednaoui on this venture, and I can't thank him enough for including me and giving me so much face time!
Oh and in case you're wondering, the nudity in the video is not mine. (You can breathe a collective sigh of relief.) I do, however, have an overdose at the end. Sorry, didn't mean to give it away.
