Andrew Cuomo officially launched his bid for Governor of New York via the internet with an announcement video on his website over the weekend.

Cuomo was expected to make his candidacy official this month after allowing a respectable time lapse following sitting-Governor, David Paterson's, decision to exit the race. 

Although Cuomo, who currently serves as Attorney General, is expected to easily clinch the Democratic nomination. He could, however, face some stiff competition from Republicans in the general election.

If Andrew Cuomo is elected Governor in New York, he won't be the first in his family to hold New York's highest office.  His father, Mario, also served one term losing re-election to George Pataki.
